Nanyang Technological University(NTU)

I am a frequent visitor to NTU since I have more than ten friends studying at there. Going to Singapore means visiting to NTU for me after they have gone there to study for more than a year. The scenes below are not strange for me although I have half a year not visit to there. Hall of Residence
Students rushing to class in the morning, there is even traffic jam in the campus!!
Hall of Residence 3, one of the newest and prettiest hall available in NTU...I was staying here...

EEE in NTU
Central Library of NTUInterior of the library, impressed by the abundance of computers inside...School of Art, Design and Media, special architecture...I had "wonderful" time seated on the lawn above the building chatted with friends...

I think I still have more times to visit NTU in coming 2 years, as you can see the picture above, the school is surrounded by a lot of greenery scenes which is good to live and study there. It also opens up the possibilities for me to view the education world in different perspectives other than just limit myself in Malaysia. See you soon next time...

Where is Yik Ming during his holidays? (Part 2)

19/1-20/1/2007 Visit to Melaka
I visited to Melaka again, after some times not back there, this time I am back with Yenson, Chooi Ling, Lay Khoon and Kang Yi to hang around this place where I had lived for 1 year. Every time I visit Melaka sure have some surprises from the latest development there, like this time I saw the bridge in front Tesco and Melaka Sentral has been completed and Pahlawan Mall was finally opened after so many years of construction.

This trip wasn't meant to have complete tour of Melaka because yenson and kang yi just finished their exam and I bet they wanted to relax more, that's why I rented an apartment nearby Klebang beach- Riviera Bay Resort. The resort is awesome and the apartment is huge, 2 rooms apartment with living room and kitchen...and the most important thing is at the seaside...YEAH!!long time didn't go to beach already...

First we went to Melaka famous food - Satay Celup. It is just like Malaysia pasar malam(night market) "luk luk" but the sauce is peanut sauce with some other ingredients.
Kang Yi eating satay celup
yenson and me
After Satay Celup, I brought them to Jonker street. This street only comes alive at night on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Unlike pasar malam in KL or other places in Malaysia, it doesn't sell pirated CD and DVD. What it sells there only foods which only can be found in melaka, souvenirs, antique and etc... It even has cultural performance from Chinese Associations on the stage near the end of the street. And one unique identity from this street is the live karaoke performance where I can't find elsewhere in other pasar malam...Jonker Walk at night, you can see the building besides the street still full of feeling of nostalgia...

On the way back to resort, we thought of buying some stuffs for tomorrow breakfast. So we headed to Tesco, but looking on my watch it was already 23:55 when we arrived at Tesco and it closed at 24:00, so we had a mission quite impossible, which was to shop only at 5 minutes. Given the 5 minutes time, we really ran around to buy our stuffs....Luckily we still managed to buy our breakfast at the end...
Mission completed...tiredly walking out of Tesco

At midnight, although we were quite tired already, but still couldn't resist the attractiveness of the mahjong which I brought. Surprisingly, all 5 of us know how to play mahjong, so we took turns and played until 5am.....The lesson that I learned from this time mahjong game is that don't underestimate women, they are great mahjong players than men sometimes...haha

Next day in the morning, when we woke up was already 11am, but we still managed to have some rounds of mahjong until 12.30pm...it's time to go, we have a stroll on the beach before heading our next destination...All in all, it was an unforgettable trip. Thanks to yenson, kang yi, lay khoon and chooi ling who filled my memory with another fascinating time...

My project journey begins...

Today I officially started my National Semiconductor project, have been delaying it for much times since we(Jing Tao, Reuben, Wei Hao, Heng and me) signed up in first trimester...Actually I not sure what my job is initially, so today I followed wei hao and jing tao to Jalan Pasar to buy some components to kick off this project...

Before that, we had lunch at one of the famous fried rice stall nearby my house, which I think is very nice also....If you want to know how nice is the fried rice is, look how happy they are while eating it you already can guess right....haha..

I think electronic expert or amateur should know where Jalan Pasar is in KL...

Jalan Pasar is Mecca for all electronics lovers which the whole street is selling cheap electronic components you can't find elsewhere in Malaysia. [ quoted from Yik Ming]

p/s: I try to source from Wikipedia, but I just realize that Jln Pasar is not that famous to appear in Wikipedia...

You can find anything you want related to electronics at Jln Pasar, either you are going there with purpose to buy a specific components or just buy a hobby kit to play around. After buying our necessary stuffs at Jalan Pasar, we proceeded to Time Square and eventually to Low Yat to buy other stuffs. If you guys have no idea how far from Jalan Pasar to Time Square is, look at this picture...And Wei Hao suggested that we should walk there...WHAT!!!Oh, Man...I rather pay you the parking fee and petrol and we should drive there....after some argument, and the driver himself said we should walk, what to do...haih...then I just followed them to take bus 11 to there...
On the way approaching Time Square
Finally...
A tiring walk indeed :-6 ...but luckily I have got something cheap...

unplanned one day Klang and Sunway trip

I really hope that this Monday I have one whole day to rest, since beginning of my holiday till now I really don't have even one day to keep me alone and free...argh, where is my holiday!!!And yes today also no exception, went to Jing Tao's place for some discussion and Klang to find May, Yi Fei and Christina...

If you guys don't know where Klang is, sorry I also couldn't tell you much of it because my memory toward Klang was 1o years ago when my dad brought me there once for Bak Kut Teh only, and that time was the one and I think was the last time already, after that he also didn't bring me to Klang for Bak Kut Teh...

After so many years, I went to Klang today... And I think the 3 gals there spend too much time in Klang until too bored already, so eventually my trip to Klang end up we all headed to Sunway Pyramid...haha...and my only picture there is this taken from my car...
ermm...looks normal only..actually I wanted to take some nice scene on the way out of Klang, but failed to do so....
Arrived at Sunway, and watched this movie...Unbelievable right!!The movie released on 21st December 2006, after almost one month it's still on the screen...and I heard my friends said it is quite nice, so it was my luck finally can watch it...Overall, it is a good movie but the relationship inside is very complicated...

Went shopping and tried some shirts there, some quite nice but better ask my mum to pay for me...lol....haha

Show you guys some funny pictures, it's 2am already and I am very very tired now...lazy to elaborate...Inspired by someone I mentioned below this blog(you-know-who-you-are), this scene reappear again...
This was one of my satisfied picture...taken while they are jumping...
After some silly one, here are some normal one...Yi Fei, Christina, May and me

At night, of course to try Klang famous Bak Kut Teh, but according to experienced Klang gals, there is no famous one at night...the famous one only open in the morning...haiyo...come at wrong time already...But at least we try the one below...Klang Bak Kut Teh
Cheers...eh, why got a ghost hand there....
Two experienced Klang gals comments: this one is really not nice la!!Next time don't come here to eat...hehe ^o^
Signing off now...sweet dream zzz...

IIUM AutoFest

After so many times watching ppl drift in a movie or tv, so when I heard there is a drifting competition in IIU, I couldn't let myself miss this great opportunities to see it live...Right after I got off from Alex's car and heading to the drifting course, I already heard the drifting sound...but I couldn't see the car performing....After that, I past by a row of modified cars which is below...Too bad I couldn't see any Porsche or Ferrari lining up here, I even initially thought of having chicks dressing bikini posting in front of those cars....haih...It really disappointed me, maybe I myself think too much, wei....this is so called Islamic University, how can that exposing gals even appear in this campus^_^ ...Nvmlah, staring at those fascinating and well decorated cars is quite rewarding already....
Oh...Nemo
And to Jay's fans out there, I am sure you know what car is this where I am posting with, don't envy me and don't punch me, I really don't have intention to mimic Jay Chao but I found my pose with this car is really perfect and quite "ying"....haha...the only thing I don't like is that I wore too formal already, which cannot bring out that sporty feeling....Trueno AE86
Having said so much, where is the most important part: drifting competition?Sorry I didn't take the photos of drifting competition, I only took some videos, but I am just newbies to blogging, so can anyone out there know how to upload video here teach me? :)

International Islamic University Malaysia

Building just after the front gate, I think is administration building...does it look like a castle?
closer shot...

Faculty of Engineering
The Auditorium where I gave my presentation
I believe every university has their own culture, that's why I like to visit universities. At IIU, I found the Islamic Architecture there is not very ugly where I found most of the mosque in Malaysia....but the Islamic element is quite mild that make me feel comfortable with it...All in all, it is pretty...

Next up: NTU/NUS

Where is Yik Ming during his holidays? (Part 1)

After long long time of my first post, I really couldn't even spend a little time on blogging since I was busy with my studies and activities. Actually I had a lot of topics in mind to blog about, but time really not allows me to do it on time. But I dont think holiday is the only time for me to blog, I really hope after this post it will serve as a good start for me to keep updating my blog....perhaps...haha....

This is actually the 6th day after I finished my last paper on last Friday, that last paper really disappointed me because what I studied didn't come out in the exam, but what I didn't study it came out!!!what a bad luck paper....This paper let me down for a few days already, I really wanted to go all out to relax myself...

8-11/1/2007
I always heard many people said how nice is the food in Ipoh, but I seldom had chance to taste it...I don't really remember when was the last time I went to Ipoh, maybe that was ages ago when I followed my parents to attend a wedding dinner in Ipoh City....that was really long time ago where we only stayed at hotel for a night and gone back the other day...

This time I went to Ipoh with Hon Mun for a 3 days 2 nights trip. He brought me to a lot of place to have nice food in Ipoh, nice until I couldn't resist eating more and more. (don't know how many kg my weight has increased..haih)Thanks En Xun for his guide to jungle tracking and waterfall nearby his house, although I din't go all out to do all the extreme action(especially diving, I really regret that), but it was an adventurous and fun outing...Not forgetting I also experience the difference of pub between Ipoh and KL...haih...I was cheated by one of the dancer in a pub....but not worth to mention it, but thanks Jun Seng for his recommendation :)Overall it was a fantastic trip beginning of my holiday, really want to thank hon mun for everything...great to have friend like you ;)

Famous beef noodle in Ipoh....very nice...

Right after come back from Ipoh today, I need to start working already.....Just went to this company
What can I say about this company? ermm....first, this is the first time I have a meeting with a business manager for a collaboration and an eye opener for me to see how these business people do their business.....although the meeting was not the fruitful one, I think Chao Fung and Alex have done a good job already.... I dont want to mention it here, maybe those who are interested to hear what happened to me in this company can ask me...haha....
